We are pleased to announce that Liza Polly Veale, AMFT, is the winner of this year’s Annual Writing Award. Her personal essay, Writing for You, captures the loneliness of writing — to the elusive Other. Moving poignantly through themes of conflict, friendship, loss, and creativity, Liza’s essay creates a literary experience similar to sitting in a clinical hour with someone who is offering a collage of ideas and impressions for us to hold lightly enough to still think creatively. Liza reminds us how psychoanalytic writing comes in far more shapes than what we usually imagine.
We invite any graduate students or recent graduates to apply now for next year’s Writing Award. We will be accepting entries until October 31, 2025.
