Join in discussion with this exciting panel as we explore the impact of emerging technologies on psychotherapy. From the expectation that the "legitimate" therapist can be found through websites and Google searches, to patient requests to use credit cards, emails and texts as basic forms of exchange, the communication tide has changed in the clinical encounter. How do we keep up, should we try to keep up, and what do these sea changes mean for treatment? We will explore "intimacy" and "contact" in relation to digital technologies. Dr. Russell, a CAPA supervisor, will Skype in on the discussion, and Dr. Carr will present material from a case where technology is central to the therapy.
