The Pre-licensed Clinician Members Committee focuses on outreach to Bay Area psychology students and brings NCSPP-affiliated psychologists to local graduate schools. The committee focuses on supporting professional development, as well as fostering community-building and networking among the next generation of psychoanalytic psychotherapists.

FALL MOVIE MATINEE - The Diary of a Teenage Girl

Course Overview: 

The protagonist is a teen living in 1970s San Francisco who enters into an affair with her mother’s boyfriend. Join us for a Sunday matinee screening of this 2015 film exploring emerging sexuality and Oedipal conflicts coupled with a discussion by Dr. Lisa Buchberg.

Instructor(s): 

Lisa Buchberg, DMH, is a supervising analyst at SFCP and PINC. She has taught courses on gender, the psychology of women, the British Independent School, and theoretical pluralism. She authored a paper exploring the TV show Girls through the lens of Freud’s “Femininity” and “Mourning and Melancholia.” Dr. Buchberg has a private practice in San Francisco.
