President Elect's Remarks

by Elise Geltman, LCSW

NCSPP is created and sustained by the blood, sweat, tears, dreams, thoughts, and passions of people like you. Every year about 60 psychoanalytically oriented professionals volunteer their time to help keep NCSPP going. Participating in NCSPP's efforts creates opportunities to network, build community, increase access to learning, and influence organizational and professional conversations about purpose, goals, values, integrity, and problem solving. If you are interested in getting involved with NCSPP, there are a few committee chair positions open as well as space for growth on committees. Chair terms start in January and must last at least two years. For more information about these opportunities, please contact me by the end of September.

Additionally, the Education Committee is accepting proposals for the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 academic year. If you are interested in teaching, please submit a proposal. This year we have the following topics in mind (and heart): psychoanalysis, politics, and social critique; community shifts (e.g., gentrification); and serving transgender, gender non-binary, and genderqueer patients. We are also always open to considering whatever topics are in your minds (and hearts). Submit by end of September for timely review.
