NCSPP would like to express our sincere condolences regarding psychoanalyst Jeremy D. Safran, Ph.D., who was murdered in his Brooklyn home by an intruder on Monday, May 7, 2018. He was a beloved professor and dedicated mentor to many students. A leader in our field, he wrote or edited eight books and numerous articles and chapters. Dr. Safran was an experienced leader at New York’s New School for Social Research as a Director of Clinical Studies, Chair of his program, and the President of the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.
