Spring Salon - Peninsula/South Bay: MOTHER'S INTUITION: The Fact of Fantasy Presenter: Angela Sowa, Psy.D. Location: Private Home, Los Gatos Date: Friday, May 7, 2010 Time: 7:30 p.m. Fees: $20 - $25 Salon Description There is no real baby! How does a mother come to recognize this infant as hers? Can she allow herself to be informed by her fantasies as they mingle in relation with her so-called real baby? By virtue of the risk taken, motherhood is no small venture. About Dr. Sowa Angela Sowa, Psy.D., MFT, is a personal and supervising analyst and faculty member at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California and a member of PINCs reproductive technology research group. She has authored articles on premature infants and Bion, has served on the advisory board of the International Journal of Infant Observation, and has supervised Tavistock-model infant observation groups for ten years. She is in private practice in Palo Alto. Registration Deadline Online registration will remain open through May 4, 2010.
