July brings an uncommonly slim issue of IMPULSE, reminding us that even the sturdiest containers need time off to stay vital. In that spirit, we wish you a fun and restful summer — though we hope you'll take a moment to check out the two lighthearted events in APPOINTMENT BOOK and communications from your colleagues in CLASSIFIEDS.

This month we welcome the newest member of the IMPULSE team, Meg Earles, M.A., who will contribute her copy editing experience to the newsletter. IMPULSE remains enthusiastically committed to serving the needs of our professional community, and we welcome your suggestions and feedback by email.

Finally, we would like to let you know about two changes in the digital realm that represent evolution in two of our analytic community's many organizations. As an expression of San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute & Society (SFPI&S)'s transformation into the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis (SFCP), its web site has moved to www.sf-cp.org. And, we would like to invite you to explore the newly redesigned NCSPP site, www.ncspp.org, which features an all-new interface including the ability to register and pay for learning opportunities online via PayPal.

ANALYTIC GROUP THERAPY - BEGINNING AUGUST 2007: Analytic group therapy is an opportunity for a group relational experience that may be adjunctive to individual analysis or an independent treatment modality that offers both analytic experience and group support. This analytic group would be useful to persons working with shame, isolation, relational anxieties, trauma and depression. The Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (NCSPP) is committed to the study of psychoanalytic psychology and the encouragement of its interest in the professional and general communities. Event listings in APPOINTMENT BOOK are available for your psychoanalytically oriented educational or professional event. To submit your event for consideration, please use our online form.

Contributions to PIECE OF MIND, our feature profiling Northern California psychoanalytic organizations, will be assigned on a monthly basis. If you'd like to suggest an organization to be featured in this space, please send an email to impulse-features@ncspp.org with the subject PIECE OF MIND. Please do not send attachments or files.

EVENT SPOTLIGHT lets you promote your upcoming analytic event in more depth and detail than is possible in APPOINTMENT BOOK. The cost is $100 per month for up to 150 words describing your event. A maximum of one EVENT SPOTLIGHT will run each month. Please begin by expressing interest in EVENT SPOTLIGHT in an email to impulse-features@ncspp.org.
