IMPULSE is a monthly newsletter published by the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology for the purpose of connecting Northern California psychoanalytic practitioners, students, and scholars. IMPULSE aims to foster the development of psychoanalytic practice and thought in our region through collaboration and understanding.
You can list your psychoanalytically oriented jobs, internships, for sale items, announcements, etc. in CLASSIFIEDS. The cost is $1 per word, to be calculated using MS Word's "word count" feature. Event listings in APPOINTMENT BOOK are available for your psychoanalytically oriented educational or professional event. To submit your event for consideration, please use our
online events form. Please note that we only list organizationally sponsored events in APPOINTMENT BOOK. Individually sponsored events, such as consultation or reading groups, can be promoted via a classified ad, described below.
Contributions to PIECE OF MIND, our feature profiling Northern California psychoanalytic organizations and programs, are welcomed on a monthly basis and are available first-come, first-serve. PIECE OF MIND runs 150-300 words and carries the byline of the author as a representative of an organization, school, agency, or group. PIECE OF MIND can be used to discuss your organization's mission and goals as well as to highlight an upcoming event. The cost is $1 per word with a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 300. EVENT SPOTLIGHT lets you promote your upcoming analytic event in more depth and detail than is possible in APPOINTMENT BOOK. The cost is $150 per month for up to 150 words describing your event. A maximum of one EVENT SPOTLIGHT will run each month. Please begin by expressing interest in EVENT SPOTLIGHT in an email using our online contact form

POTENTIAL SPACE is a place within IMPULSE for play a home for a creative, unconventional, or otherwise novel contributions. should be emailed using our online contact form. Due to length restrictions and thematic constraints, we cannot guarantee that your submission will be published. However, we encourage you to express yourself and help us open the space. Please note that you must be the copyright owner of anything you submit, and your submission constitutes permission for IMPULSE to publish your submission via email and on the web in perpetuity without any compensation.

DEADLINES: To be considered for publication, submissions must be received by the 15th of the month prior to publication. (For example, September 15 for the October issue.)
ORIGINALITY: To maximize the value of our limited space and preserve the newsletter's quality, IMPULSE does not accept submissions the essential substance of which has been or will be published elsewhere, whether in part or in whole.
A listing in IMPULSE is not an endorsement of a product or recommendation of the practice of any group or individual by NCSPP or the IMPULSE staff. Those listing their services are responsible for remaining within the scope of practice of their license. The staff reserves the right to edit, abbreviate, or reject any submission. We make every effort to ensure accuracy with regard to content, phone numbers, locations, etc. However, we cannot be responsible for inadvertent errors that may occur. Liability is limited, at the staff's discretion, to either a correct reprint in the next issue or a refund (for classified ads). IMPULSE and the NCSPP do not guarantee that offices for rent are in compliance with zoning ordinances or building codes and assumes no liability in disputes between landlords and tenants.
