PRESIDENT'S REMARKS

As summer approaches, we wind down just a bit, take time with family and loved ones, and hopefully create some psychic space to reflect on what we have learned and are learning.

In recent conversations with graduate students and pre-licensed folks, I often find myself saying that the best way to become more involved in the psychoanalytic community -- to hear and feel the pulse of what's current -- is to attend NCSPP events or take some of our classes. At our last board meeting in May, I was invigorated by our plans for next year's educational offerings. Once again, NCSPP is offering a rich array of learning opportunities with topics geared toward practitioners who embrace psychoanalytic ideas. I'm impressed by our board members' efforts to create exciting, varied, and fresh opportunities for our constituency. Please stay tuned for mailings and announcements as we prepare to unveil NCSPP's courses and events for 2008-09. I think you will be pleased at the variety of experiences we offer.

Looking forward, we continue to strive to offer educational opportunities for psychoanalytic thinkers at all levels. Whether you're in private practice, interested in formal psychoanalytic training, or on staff in community and educational settings, our programming has evolved to satisfy a variety of educational appetites. One of the best ways to stay abreast of current activities is to check our website frequently www.ncspp.org.

Warm regards,
Drew Tillotson, Psy.D.
