INTERVIEWER/RADIO BROADCASTER MICHAEL KRASNY PH.D. IN CONVERSATION WITH TWO PSYCHOANALYSTS

Interviewer: Michael Krasny, Ph.D.
Instructors: Maureen Murphy, Ph.D.; Peter Goldberg, Ph. D.
Location: San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, 444 Natoma Street, San Francisco, CA 94103

This course will explore the intersection of patient and therapist/subject and interviewer when the therapy/interview relationship stalls, implodes, or explodes.  How do we understand relational k(nots), the ways in which some aspect of the therapy/interview becomes seemingly impenetrable?  Who said what to whom, and what was meant?  These distressing miscommunications are often the heart of a treatment, can destabilize an interview, and feel excruciating to one or both parties.  What is felt to be unspeakable? What unconscious material is being enacted? (3 CE credits available.)
