ARE YOU MY BION?

Saturday, November 5, 2011
8:30 AM-3:00 PM

CPMC Pacific Campus
Conference Room A
2333 Buchanan Street
San Francisco

PINC presents a unique event to explore the many facets of Wilfred Bion (1897-1979), who introduced a new way to conceptualize thinking and to understand and engage with the mind. Bion has emerged as one of the architects of modern psychoanalysis. The richness and complexity of his ideas leave room for many different conceptions of him, and our presenters will introduce us to their Bion and speak about the concepts that stir them the deepest. To put their ideas into practice, each will respond to case material from the vantage point of their Bion. Presenters: Charles Dithrich, Ph.D., Peter Goldberg, Ph.D., and Los Angeles psychoanalyst and writer of a new book on Bion, Annie Reiner, Ph.D. Moderator: Reyna Cowan, LCSW. Case presentation: Diane Strongwater, MFT.
