An analytic look at our decaying and forgotten landscapes, with the artist Eric Goodfield
Join NCSPP for an exclusive viewing and reception with artist Eric Goodfield, as we explore his photographs from a psychoanalytic perspective. Nicole Hsiang will open the discussion with her observations about the work.
Disconnected is a photographic story of the forgotten landscape of the payphone. Taken with a cellphone-- the thing that killed the thing-- all of Eric's pictures show payphones across the world in various states of usefulness and decay.
Eric’s images conjure up feelings of nostalgia and loss at a time when technology is rapidly rendering the payphone and other communication devices obsolete. What might our relationships to these objects say about our relationship with each other?
